Secret Key Remember me. Difference between the SN and the SN? I can’t find any ‘s but I have some ‘s no idea why I ordered them years past. The only difference I can see is the enable pin being active from an inverted signal.
The rest of the chip looks to be identical in function. Can anyone confirm this? Yeah, I decided to ask instead of study the datasheet. Was just hoping to get a nod to using it in place of the I am wiring the enable to ground or VCC either way. Don’t need to control it logically. dqtasheet
They’re pretty much identical except for the enable level. You may find they work at lower Vcc, but they’d be out of spec.
For dataseet one-of maybe that’s alright, but I always go by what’s on the datasheet, period. I’ve been burned in the past by making those assumptions. A great example is the Microchip app note where they run AC line voltage directly into an IO pin through a 1M ohm resistor to detect the zero crossings.

But the app note left off the fact that by doing that the ADC doesn’t work anymore, or the osc goes bananas, datahseet the WDT resets at the drop of a hat. That’s a good example of a situation dtasheet the device itself matters Anyway, the important parameters to look for are: If it’s tied to VCC then as you lower the supply the max input drops as well.
If it’s a max voltage that usually means you can power it with a lower voltage 3V and still run higher voltage into the pins 5V. On the output side, most CMOS chips dagasheet days will drive pretty much rail to rail but that depends on how much current the load needs and what the chip can drive. Usually as you lower VCC the chip gets slower, so propagation delay increases.
Lastly, be sure to look at the datasheet for the particular part you’re interested in. Sometimes a part might deviate from the family spec ie don’t assume all HCT parts are the same. Secret Key Remember me Forgot your password? I must have the wrong extension of that device because I read that to convert from 5 to 3. The inputs would still be 5v tolerant. The main issue with the extension, or class, or whatever you call it, the HCT part, is the slew rate and latency.
