Real charming, isn’t it?
Fortunately, Simon was tortured enough to keep me happy. In fact, she laughed at the idea, and bridgertn started her “stop reading-start living” lectures, while arranging to introduce me to the Lady of the Caramel’s son, who is “rich, young and available” I think available is her most important quality.
Mar 29, Amanda rated it really liked it Shelves: However, this series has been an enormous disappointment to me. A chance meeting with the sister of his old high school best qhinn sister has him suggesting a fake engagement that might benefit the both of them. I must say that Anthony annoyed the crap out of me.

The two of them decided to fake an interest in each other so that all the match-making mamas would leave Simon alone, and Daphne could have better prospects, because with a handsome duke interested in her, suddenly every man finds her lovely.
There is no way in hell I could get pregnant from this. They might have worked things out in the end but that scene tainted the rest of the story for me with its questionable levels of consent.
He wants her and she, drunk and sleepy, won’t say no. And I want to know if Colin’s son Georgie ever learned to talk. But they wanted more. She was consumed by the thought of children like she wouldn’t have been complete without them.
Honestly, I have no idea why I kept going. Apparently two people fell in love and found themselves, I didn’t notice. I had to call my brother I always tell him about my books rather he cares or notand go hug my Dad just because I needed comfort.
There are a couple explicit sex scenes and it’s the middle of my steam tolerance and let’s leave it at that. Billie and George have this whole haters thing going. It is so beautiful but at the same time, heart wrenching!
Starting with the second Bridgerton book, chronologically, and from then on in her career – I think the second Bridgerton book was when she really found her tone as a writer, and that’s when her books started really working for me. And Colin and his family made appearances too. A book that does that is more likely to be highly rated.

Jun 01, Rane rated it really liked it Shelves: I have greatly enjoyed it, especially during the quiet, sweet moments with Cecilia and Edward. And if you read for adventure or crazy shenanigans julis lots of high drama that is true. Him and Francesca have always stayed with me and were a fav of mine next to Benedict and Sophie.
I know that Daphne made a token statement about being okay with him not wanting kids if it was for the right reason, but I doubt that. And bridherton it culm Some spoilers ahead, so consider yourself forewarned.
The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband by Julia Quinn
The story itself was pretty fun. I’m sorry to interrupt this delightfully enlightening review but I can’t let you insult poor Daphne here. No matter how much he wanted her. View all 10 comments. If the entire relationship was built within bgidgerton context of a lie, there is no foundation for a happily ever after and no satisfaction for me as a reader.
Cute story, although we never find out what happens to George. If only the hero hadn’t taken a blow to the head. Still he was ready to accept what the heroine told julua and trust her wrongly!
I love and miss the family.
There was lots of humorous banter and some real laugh aloud moments. Bridgerton and The Duke and I are two of my all-time favorite romance novels, but JQ stopped being an auto-buy for me long ago, when it became obvious that her effort or maybe inspiration had disappeared.
I must admit there were times I wanted to punch Simon for being so stubborn, guided by the hatred towards his father, but I also ached for his difficult childhood and the lack of love and acceptance that marked him. It was a nice, easy read for a Sunday afternoon and I wil Written in the same vein as Georgette Heyer – not quite as good but still very entertaining!
Detalles del producto Formato: It’s not that I wanted an accurate portrayal of war being terrible necessarily, but it just felt a little like disneyland war. Quinn’s name attached to a book I know that I will be getting a great story that will keep me entertained. They know the internal and external dialogue meanders along for waaaay too long. Epilogue II stars What was the point of this?
I was exasperated by the halfway point that the entire seris revolved around Cecilia lying about being married to Edward. I didn’t think that was a good resolution; I was totally waiting for a conspiracy that would answer what happened to him and reveal Thomas as alive. That is where I began to dislike Daphne.
She was vile, truly, and thought herself to be entirely blameless throughout the story.
